Getting Started:

Parametric Training (Training Strategy)

What is it?
Parametric training is not just a new trend – it is a multi-dimensional understanding of the whole training process. The direction and effectiveness of training is defined by a significant number of variables. Since these variables (time of work, time of rest, distance of reps, speed, heart rate, etc.) exist at many levels – the number of combinations of different training strategies is practically unlimited. This is one of the main reasons why information related to efficient management of the training process over time, has not been sufficiently studied. The knowledge of the relationship between specific training variables and changes in an athlete’s condition is essential for creating winning training strategies. Our system provides answers to many of the questions concerning this process.

Where did it come from?
"Parametric Training" or "Effective Training Strategies" was invented, conceptualized and first introduced by Dr. Sergei Gordon, Professor of the Russian State Academy of Sports, and group of his students (including Dr. Sergei Beliaev President of SuperSportSystems.) These training strategies were first applied in the preparation of Olympic level athletes, in swimming and rowing in the late 1980’s, with instant success. The concept was readily adopted by several other sports with the same degree of success since then.

Why should I use it?
Over 30 World and Olympic medallists in various endurance and team sports have been trained using this program since then. Parametric training represents a new dimension in coaching science and theory and there is really no alternative to it. The concept of Parametric Training was first introduced in the US in the mid-nineties by several coaches from the former Soviet Union, who gained limited knowledge of these methods prior to their immigration to the US. The concept was then employed by USA Swimming and is currently being used by their coaches on a limited basis. You should consider yourself at a serious disadvantage, if you are not yet using this program for the planning and preparation of your athletes.

How does it work?
In addition to first hand knowledge and understanding of all the nuances of parametric training, based on decades of research, 3S offers a proprietary calculator of Parametric exercises. It provides calculations of changes in related physiological parameters (such as Heart Rate, VO2, Concentration of lactic acid in blood, heart output and heart stroke volume, etc.) over time, during the different stages of a season, and in relation to an optimal strategy of training provided by 3S. 3S knowledge about Parametric Training is based on proprietary multi-decade research. This is yet another exclusive 3S feature, which is not available anywhere else.
